Our Purpose
Lyrik Place is a global nonprofit serving children in Chicago and Ghana through scholarships, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops, menstrual cycle education, hygiene education, and life-skills support. We exist to help students move beyond survival into purpose, possibility, and a sustainable future.
The Problem & How We Solve It
Girls shouldn’t have to drop out of school just because they start their period. In Ghana, many young girls miss school (or completely drop out) because they don’t have access to proper hygiene products for their period. At Lyrik Place Nonprofit, we provide period supplies for school aged girls in Ghana and teach them how to safely use the products so they don’t have to miss school.
Students shouldn’t get in trouble because they haven’t learned how to process their emotions properly. Far too often students are labeled as “bad kids” because they simply haven’t learned how to effectively handle their emotions. At Lyrik Place, we focus on SEL Activities and Training to help students navigate through life and interactions with others. Whether in Chicago or Ghana, we offer SEL workshops to equip students to thrive.
